Is what I say kept private?

Yes. Your records and what you say stay confidential, as the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 requires. The rare exceptions, such as a serious risk to your safety, are explained at your first visit, before anything else.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly, for yourself or for someone in your family.

Will I have to take medication?

Not necessarily. Medication is one option among several, and any decision about it is made with you, with the reasons laid out. Nothing is prescribed in a hurry.

Any past prescriptions or reports, and a list of the medicines you take now. For a video consultation, a quiet room where you won't be overheard.

Can I come with someone?

Yes. Bring whoever makes it easier. Part of the conversation may still be just the two of you, and that is normal.

What the site is for

The site lets you read about the practice and book and pay for consultations, in person at the clinic or by video. Nothing on the site is medical advice for your situation. Advice is given only in a consultation, after the doctor has spoken with you.

Not for emergencies

The site and the practice do not provide emergency care. If you or someone with you is in immediate danger, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Video consultations

Video consultations follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 issued under the Indian Medical Council regulations. By booking one you consent to a consultation by video. The doctor may decide that a condition needs an in-person visit, or that certain medicines cannot be prescribed remotely, and will say so. You are responsible for a private space and a working connection at your end.

Who can book

You must be 18 or older to book for yourself. A parent or legal guardian may book for someone under 18 and must be present for the consultation. You may book for another adult with their knowledge and consent.

Bookings and payment

A slot is confirmed only when payment is complete. Fees are shown on the site before you pay and are collected through Razorpay, a payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are covered in the refunds and cancellations policy.

Your information

How your personal and health information is handled is set out in the privacy policy. Your right to confidentiality under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 applies to everything you share in a consultation.

Conduct

Please treat the practice and its staff with courtesy. The doctor may end a consultation, or decline future bookings, in cases of abuse or threatening behaviour.

Content and liability

The content of the site is general information and may change. The practice is not liable for losses arising from your use of the site, from interruptions to the site or to a video consultation caused by third-party services, or from reliance on general information rather than a consultation. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts at Amritsar, Punjab.
